Purpose
This position is primarily responsible to properly receive, locate, return, and account for parts and merchandise. It also involves assisting in other areas of the department as described below
Responsibilities
- Timely processes and receives parts shipments (i.e. Customer & Stock Orders, Machine Down & Returns)
- Locates new stock; pulls and processes returns
- Files shipment shortages
- Responsible for coordinating all outgoing shipments from the store
- Posts freight to work orders and counter tickets as needed for parts orders & transfers
- Performs cycle counting duties to ensure that all parts are properly verified to be reflective of reported inventory; report discrepancies of over/under amounts and any damaged products
- Assists in keeping Parts Department clean and orderly; routine housekeeping tasks as needed
- Makes certain that the technician or customer receives the proper part on time as promised; calls customers for parts pick-up if necessary
- Assists manager with merchandising displays by re-stocking showroom inventory
- Routinely lifts items weighing up to 50lbs
- Assists in other areas of the department as needed
Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge
- 3+ years of shipping and receiving experience preferred
- High School diploma or GED equivalent; Associates preferred
- Must be detail-oriented and able to work with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work in a team setting and get along with others
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a degree of independence
- Experience using standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and internet applications
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends
